(Ripley County, Ind.) - Ripley County Community Foundation, Inc. is an organization that allows everyone to leave a legacy in and for their community. New funds are established to support projects or charities which improve the quality of life in Ripley County. Jerry Dunbar has established a designated endowment fund in memory of his wife, Pat, and his son, Ronnie, known as the Pat and Ronnie Dunbar 4-H Enthusiasts Fund.

Jerry’s wife, Pat, started her philanthropic career in Franklin County, where she grew up. After getting married, she became an officer in the Ripley County 4-H Corporation and served as the Rabbit Project Superintendent for 20 years. When she was not busy with the 4-H program, she was working with the children in the school systems. From starting the physical education program at St. Nicholas, to working in special education program at East Central, Pat exhibited her passion of educating children, helping all of them advance in life, and reaching their goals. Like his mother, Ronnie, an East Central Graduate of 1986, had a passion for animals and community involvement. He was a member of Faithful Workers Club and a member of Junior Leaders for 10 years. Pat and Ronnie loved the 4-H program and Jerry is thankful for all the opportunities it gave them.

Jerry wanted to continue the legacies started by his wife and son; establishing an endowment fund at the Ripley County Community Foundation for the perpetual support of the Ripley County 4-H program, provided the perfect solution. The Dunbar 4-H Enthusiasts Fund will ensure that children will continue to have a quality 4-H program teaching them the values needed to lead successful lives.

The Ripley County Community Foundation has received $500,000 from Lilly Endowment Inc.’s GIFT VII initiative to match donations to endowed funds. This matching opportunity has generated a great deal of interest and is available only while GIFT VII funds last. This matching opportunity makes today the ideal time to leave your legacy, or to continue the legacy of a loved one. The Ripley County Community Foundation is located at 13 E. George Street, Suite B, Batesville, IN 47006, (812) 933-1098 and more information can be found at www.rccfonline.org.
